What is a Breast Lift / Mastopexy?

A breast lift is performed when patients desire elevation of the breast tissue and reducing redundant skin. The nipple is moved to a higher position and the breast is reshaped. 

Many patients choose to have this operation after a period or weight loss or after breast feeding. Some healthfunds  and medicare rebate can be obtained to supplement the cost of the surgery for women who has breast ptosis after breast feeding. 

What is the recovery after breast lift surgery?

Breast lift surgery can be performed with or without breast implants. Patients need to wear a surgical bra for at least 4 weeks after surgery. There is usually minimal pain and patients can resume normal activities within days.
