Inhouse Imaging

Dr Cheung is one of very few breast surgeons in Sydney who are accredited in breast ultrasound. She performs targeted breast ultrasounds during her consultations. This enables thorough surgical planning and in her experience had detected additional lesions which may require attention.

By being able to perform breast ultrasounds, this also minimizes the need for patients to have hookwire localizations which require a fine wire to be inserted to locate a small lesion prior to surgery.

Furthermore, it is our experience that, by doing targeted breast ultrasounds and showing the patients the imaging in real time, patients feel more reassured about their symptoms.
